Academy Award-winning actress Kim Basinger has teamed up with non-profit organisation Last Chance for Animals (LCA) to narrate its public service announcement, exposing China's dog meat industry.

Basinger and LCA are calling for China to adopt a nationwide animal cruelty law that would create penalties for cruel treatment of any animal. In the video, Basinger says 'When I heard about the brutal circumstances surrounding the dog meat industry in China, I was shocked to learn that many of these dogs are family pets.
